Who am I?
Lauren “Lorny” Pfeifer
Lauren is a Venture Capital investor at Maschmeyer Group Ventures (MGV). Prior to MGV, Lauren was an Associate for 500 Startups in their Series A program helping companies with growth and distribution. Before venture, Lauren worked in corporate data analytics and startup operations in Los Angeles.
Lauren is an advocate for promoting inclusion within tech, venture capital, and limited partner institutions. As a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers hub in San Francisco, she is currently leading a project “AI: Re-Coding our Future” which aims to create an inclusive future in the field of artificial intelligence.
Lauren is enthusiastic about the future of intelligent systems and humans and builds robots in her free time. Lauren is the creator of “Machines + Intelligence” a blog covering AI and robotics research from around the globe and is also currently a returning student studying electrical engineering and computer science (part time). Last year she was a Deep Learning Diversity Fellow for USF's Data Institute in Spring 2018 and continues to be an active organizer for Latinx in AI. Most recently, Lauren started the SF Deep Reinforcement Learning group, a spin-out of OpenAI’s first Spinning Up workshop to build a local community of Deep RL learners and practitioners.
